Deep Sea

Most sea creatures live near the surface, where the water is warm and sunlit. The light cannot travel very deep and the sea's currents rarely move the warm surface water down to the depths of the ocean.

At depths of more than 1 mile, the sea is very cold and completely dark. Some very strange creatures live here. They feed on each other and on food which drifts down from above.
